Antisamos Beach

The beautiful beach of Antisamos is one of the most famous and popular of the island of Kefalonia. It is located about 22 kilometers from the town of Argostoli and a short distance from the village of Sami. It is surrounded by verdant hills which, in addition to guaranteeing shelter from the wind, offer a unique panorama. It is a large bay characterized by white pebbles and fabulous sea, the water is so transparent that you can distinguish the multitude of fish even without a mask and you can not wait to dive! Antisamos beach has increased its fame especially in recent years, after having been chosen to shoot several scenes of the film "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" with Nicolas Cage.

Services

On Antisamos beach you will find all kinds of services: a restaurant, a snack bar and the rental of sunbeds, umbrellas and equipment for water sports. The umbrellas closest to the sea cost 9 € per day and those slightly further back are free: just order something from the bar, which will be delivered directly to your lounger .. maximum comfort!

If, on the other hand, you are looking for a more wild environment in contact with nature, you can move to the sides of Antisamos beach and relax in the shade of ancient trees.

How to get to Antisamos beach

From Argostoli you will have to follow the signs for Sami, heading north-east. It will take you about half an hour and on the way you can admire the wild and unspoiled nature of the beautiful island of Kefalonia. Once you reach the village of Sami, you will have to travel a few more kilometers to get to this paradisiacal beach. Once you arrive you can leave your car in the convenient parking adjacent to the beach. If you don't have a means of transport, no problem: Antisamos beach can also be reached by bus.

Our advice

As already mentioned, the beach of Antisamos is one of the most beautiful on the island of Kefalonia and also one of the most popular, for this reason it could be quite crowded at peak times. For this reason we advise you to leave early in the morning in order to appreciate it at its best!

Contemplate the green hills that plunge into the turquoise sea in complete tranquility and take advantage to snorkel and swim in the clear sea of Antisamos among the many fish. After a day at sea, take the opportunity to visit the nearby ruins from ancient Sami.
