The historic center
The historic center of Corfu (Kérkyra in Greek) is the perfect starting point to start your holiday on the island with a bang! According to many, the most fascinating neighborhood is Cambiello, a maze of narrow streets (kantounia) flanked by palaces of 4 and 5 floors! In the Ancient Fortress stands the Church of San Giorgio, with an external facade similar to a Doric temple. Not far from the Ancient Fortress is the Royal Palace, the largest building in Corfu. The Ancient Fortress, the Royal Palace, the Byzantine Museum and the other museums in the area can be visited with a single ticket that can be purchased at each of these facilities. If you love history, take a tour here!Lake of Korission
The southern coast of Corfu is a succession of small and medium-sized villages where tourism development has spread in no time. Lake Korission is worth a visit, we are talking about an area of great naturalistic interest. A lagoon near the sea crossed by a bridge that leads to a small grove on the sand. Many species of birds populate this unique habitat! So don't forget your camera!Cape Drastis
Cape Drastis is a rocky inlet on the northwestern side of Corfu. Access is from Perulades. To reach it you have to take a dirt road that leads to a panoramic point from which, at sunset, you can take very suggestive pictures. Absolutely one of the most beautiful places in Corfu. Not to be missed!BeachesThe beaches of Corfu are many and all remain in your heart. Messongi, Moretika, Pelekas, Glyfada, Mitriotissa, Paleokastritsa are all beaches that deserve from a landscape-environmental point of view. To these we can add Agios Gordis, the lake of Korission and Paleokastritsa, or even higher (after Paleokastritsa) the beaches of Agios Gorgios and Arillas. On the east coast, however, we recommend the Bateria, Kaminaki and Barbati beaches. And let's not forget the neighboring islets: Pontikonissi and Vidos. You will fall in love with these small and large paradises!
