Lefkos Beach

Lefkos Beach

Lefkos beach is one of the most known and popular beaches on the island of Karpathos. It is located 30 kilometers north of Pigadia on the west coast of Karpathos. It is divided into three bays: the Gialou beach, the most famous of all, the Panagias Limani beach, the smallest and quietest and the Fragolimniona beach, which is the largest beach in the area.
Behind the beach there is the small village with new hotels and apartments, restaurants, taverns, cafes and a few shops: it is a village that has only been developing from a tourist point of view in recent years.

Is Lefkos beach equipped?

The three coves belonging to the beach of Lefkos have a very soft light sand and a splendid blue sea. They offer rental services for sun beds and umbrellas at € 7 per day, taverns with sea views, showers, toilets, bars and shops, and for those who prefer it, there are large stretches of free beach, so you can enjoy relaxation as you wish . In recent years, thanks to the development of tourism in this area, several structures have emerged that offer tourist services of all kinds.

The first two bays are preferred by families and not only, because of the fine sand and the sea that slopes gently, as well as a long stretch where you can walk whether it is morning or sunset

The third bay is very similar to the other two, however smaller and quite wild, so it is ideal for those seeking relaxation in the midst of nature: the only flaw is the strong wind blowing in these parts, but certainly not a flaw for lovers of windsurfing and kitesurfing, who will be able to give themselves to crazy joy here!

How do you get to Lefkos beach?

Getting to Lefkos beach is very simple, but you certainly need to rent a car which is essential for visiting the island of Karpathos. You will have to go through Menetes, Arkasa and Finiki, via a well-paved road. In the village near the bay, or a few meters before, it is possible to leave the car in the appropriate parking lots, and then reach the bay of Lefkos with a few minutes of walking.

If you prefer you can reach the beach by walking through the mountain roads: your effort will be rewarded with a spectacular panorama and unique scents of the Mediterranean scrub.
We advise you to take this trip early in the morning, so that once you arrive you can admire the coves as nature has made them!

What you absolutely cannot miss is the sunset: enjoy it together with your partner, your friends or your family.
And wait until it drops completely because when the lights of the town light up, an old seaside village scenario is created. Unique and incredible!
