Mastichari Beach

Mastichari Beach

Mastichari Beach is located about 25 km from Kos Town (the capital of the island of Kos) and its beauty was born years ago when the village behind it was a simple and small fishing village. Even at the time it was a quiet and relaxing destination, where time passed slowly ... and today ... this is its beauty and uniqueness!

Those who choose to stay in Mastichari, do not look for the wild nightlife, but they know how to appreciate the places that are located right on the beach, that during the day serve excellent breakfasts, quick lunches and in the evening they become little cafes for an evening in the company of good music and a good cocktail, admiring the most beautiful sunsets on the island of Kos .. Yes, Mastichari Beach is known and chosen by the betrothed who wish to have a photo shoot at the top!

One of the best places is certainly the Aplo Beach Bar which offers a breathtaking view and thanks to the friendliness of the staff, it will certainly become one of your focal point.

Obviously, as a good fishing village, here in Mastichari the taverns offer the freshest fish on the island of Kos and for those who wish it can also be bought directly early in the morning, at the harbor directly from the fishermen.

If you love Pita Gyros (why should you miss it?) The best you can enjoy from Kenny's Gyros which is right in the small town of Mastichari, between small shops and supermarkets for daily shopping.

Mastichari Beach is one of those places where one often happens by chance and then returns, more than ever in love with its nature, its familiarity and its sea that gives days always enlivened by a light breeze that will refresh from the summer heat. Over the years many tourists have decided to buy an apartment / villa to be able to stay from March to November and many are the tourists who for over 10 years have been back because only here "they feel at home".

Its white sand beach is among the largest on the island of Kos and extends for several kilometers interspersed with areas equipped with sun beds and umbrellas, but also completely free areas where you can find shrubs and tamarisks to protect from the sun. Behind these sand dunes, you will find a wonderful little road for an evening walk in the moonlight.

Mastichari is also a starting point for those wishing to reach the nearby Kalymnos by ferry, be it for a day trip or for a stay of several days (highly recommended for its views and its rocky walls thanks to which free lovers climbing will feel in a fabulous natural paradise).

Not to be missed: the remains of a splendid Christian Basilica from the 5th century, Agios Ioannis, with its fantastic floor mosaics and located on the western edge of the beach.

Mastichari Beach will give you fabulous moments of a vacation on the island of Kos ... to remember!
