Psarou beach

Psarou beach

Psarou beach is located on the southern coast of the island of Mykonos and is about 3 kilometers from the capital Mykonos Town. It has soft sand that will caress your feet, high mountains that protect it from the winds and a wonderful turquoise sea in which you can not wait to dive. You should know that Psarou beach is a favorite of international stars! Here you might be lucky enough to meet a VIP, or maybe who knows, directly your idol in person. However, if you go to the beach bar Nammos you will have even more chances to meet someone famous, but keep in mind that, as is well known, for VIPs you always have an extra eye on, so not everyone is unfortunately allowed to enter the beach of Psarou, especially if it presents itself with a certain aspect, and many with cameras in hand have been hunted because security thought they were paparazzi, so if you have the desire to meet a famous person try not to give too much in the eye, dress up and dress in an elegant way, so you will have guaranteed access to the beach and all its services.

What can I find on Psarou beach?

When you arrive in front of Psarou beach you will immediately notice that you have to pass the checks first. Once inside you can see all the services that Psarou offers: the rental of sun beds and umbrellas for those who love to relax on a comfortable deck chair and enjoy shelter from the sun with an umbrella, expensive boutiques for those who wish to shop, taverns with terraces that they overlook the sea and then the inevitable Nammos restaurant and beach bar, where you can enjoy a good aperitif, a lunch or eat some snacks and refresh yourself with the drink you prefer, all obviously surrounded by splendid music that animates the beach. Often events, parties and concerts are organized here, with countless entries; these are space and unique parties, do not miss them if you are big lovers of unbridled fun! For those who prefer there are also stretches of free beach, so you can relax in the middle of nature using your equipment.
Psarou beach also offers a diving school (which will give you the Scuba Diving license) and water sports centers, so lovers of fun in the water, here you can indulge yourself!
It must be said that the costs are higher than the average, but you can certainly find a place that offers its products at lower prices, also because the beach is suitable for everyone, only that it is also frequented by people of the show. For example, there are two restaurants outside the VIP area where you can enjoy excellent fresh fish at very modest prices. By the way, these two also offer the service under your umbrella, so you don't have to bother. In short, even if you are not in the VIP area and you are not part of this category, you will still enjoy the luxury!
Pay attention to the external areas of the beach, you will certainly see other sunbeds and umbrellas, but they can only be used by guests of the hotels behind.

How do I get to Psarou beach?

Reaching the beach of Psarou is very easy with the car and, once you arrive, you will find a parking area where you can leave your car for a fee. Given the daily flow of the beach, we advise you to reach it in other ways: by bus, whose stop is located in front of a path that you will then have to travel to reach the beach. You can also use the taxi, or go on foot from the nearby Platis Gialos beach (10 minute walk), or with local boats that leave from Ornos beach. So you can, without worries, swallow a few more drinks if you prefer!

What's around Psarou?

In front of the Psarou beach there is another small bay where VIPs can go with the helipad, a means of not being discovered too much. The other swimmers instead will be able to use jet skis and rafts to reach the cute bay in front.

An advice?

A tip we give you is to book the sunbeds and umbrellas well in advance, especially if you go here in August, a period in which the beach is even more crowded!

In any case, Psarou beach is truly a paradise, hundreds of thousands of people reach it every year to enjoy its spectacular landscape and all its comforts. Whether you are a VIP or not is not important, although it may seem that the bay is reserved exclusively for famous people, it is not so. Only a certain elegance is required, in order not to "ruin" the reputation of the beach. Of course you could be annoyed for a moment at the entrance, but once you enter here you will forget everything and spend one of the most beautiful days of your holiday on the island of Mykonos.
