Ftelia Beach

Ftelia Beach

Description

Lying on the north of the island the beach of Ftelia is a wide bay of sand and small pebbles, with a fabulous sea.

To reach it you have to go down a steep but feasible descent and the parking is ample and comfortable.

Meltemi is the typical wind of these islands and often blows on this beach. The Ftelia beach is indeed a paradise for surfers and kitesurfers. As the wind is weak, instead it becomes an enchantment for everyone: crystal clear sea, very wide beach, almost all free and very few people.

The best time to visit is certainly June-July, when the sea is warmer and the wind moderate. Like the whole island in August it is quite crowded and more windy.

It is one of the few semi-free beaches of Mykonos, but there is also a bathhouse that occupies a small part of the beach. The free part is also poorly cared for and unfortunately there is always some rude who abandons his own waste.

There is only one restaurant on the beach and it is quite expensive. We recommend that you bring plenty of water and some snacks if you want a snack.

Characteristic is the large rock shaped by the waves and the wind that is found on this beach. A great background for your souvenir photos. Definitely worth seeing!
