Charming golden sandy beach located near the town of Mykonos, easily reachable by public bus.
The beach of Platis Gialos is very wide and especially in the morning it is perfect for those who want to relax and do not like crowded places. In the afternoon it could become quite crowded, especially in high season.
It offers various beaches with all possible comforts: sunbeds, umbrellas, bars and restaurants (umbrella and 2 sun loungers 20 euros). There is also a mini market where you can buy fresh food and drinks, if you do not prefer, do not go to the restaurant.
It also has a small part of free beach. But we advise you to arrive early, if you want to find a place for your umbrella!
The sea is calm and transparent and slowly degrades towards the sandy bottom, therefore also recommended for those with small children.
