Plaka Beach

Plaka beach is located on the west coast of the island of Naxos, between the beaches of Agia Anna and Orkos and is among the most beautiful beaches on the island. It is a very long expanse of clear sand with sand dunes behind it and crystal clear sea with a thousand shades .. a true paradise!

This fabulous beach stretches for over three kilometers and due to its extension it is never too crowded. The transparent sea has some stretches of small rocks flush with the water, which create an effect similar to a coral reef .. You will feel like you are in the Maldives!

Services

Coming from the north, the first part of Plaka beach offers several restaurants and taverns that offer a rental service for sun beds and umbrellas, ranging from 12 to 40 euros per day. Going south the beach becomes increasingly deserted and wild, truly fantastic!

If you love tranquility and do not disdain comfort, we advise you to get to the end of the road, where you will find small kiosks with a few beds. Cheaper than the first part of the beach: an umbrella and two sun beds cost only 6 euros per day .. Or you can use the Plakafe sun beds and swimming pool for only one drink.

Going further, you will find only fine sand dunes and from here on the beach is completely left to its natural splendor and is the favorite area for naturists. But behind the sandy dunes that border Plaka beach you will find various taverns, bars, mini markets and restaurants where you can have some refreshment.

On Plaka beach there is also a sports center well equipped with rental equipment for windsurfing, kitesurfing, jet skis and water skiing. So in addition to relaxation here you can also practice your favorite sport!

How to get

Easily accessible by car, Plaka beach is bordered by a well-maintained but dusty dirt road. If you have not rented a car or scooter, it is also served by public buses: if you want to access the north part of the beach, get off at The three brothers restaurant. For the central area of Plaka beach you will have to get off at the next stop.
