Maragas Beach

Description

Maragas beach is one of the many beaches on the western side of the island of Naxos.

To reach this beach it is sufficient to arrive shortly after the beach of Agia Anna, pass a rocky promontory overlooking the sea and a forest of cedars .. and suddenly you will find yourself in a unique beach, divided into two parts: one wilder where naturism is practiced and one equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas (€ 10 per day).

The mix of fine sand and rocks makes this beach landscape of Maragas extremely appreciated and loved by both children and adults.

The wide beach of Maragas is characterized by its light sand, soft and extremely comfortable to the touch, the coast has turquoise and very clear waters and the bottom is very suitable if you travel with children, for its gently degrade.

Although it does not have the characteristic dunes of the nearby beach of Plaka (shortly after), it has numerous maritime pines that make the typical atmosphere of the Mediterranean maquis with its perfumes and atmospheres.

We are talking about one of the largest beaches on the island of Naxos, with its 4 km of extension.

And ... if you were to fall madly in love with it ... know that on top of a spur there is a small and suggestive little church, where some of the most romantic of lovers decide to swear eternal love, with an endless background of turquoise waters. .fairytale!
