Paros Natural Park

Paros Park is located on the peninsula north of the island of Paros, called Ai Yiannis Detis. With its 80 hectares of land, this park since 2009 has made it possible for excursion lovers to have fun exploring every corner of this vast area.
This park is owned by a public company whose volunteers organize events throughout the year to economically support the natural area and ensure its adequate protection and thanks to the great work that has been done in this protected area, Paros Park has acquired a certain natural, historical and cultural importance.

It is a quiet park where rocks, caves, hidden coves, sheltered bays stand out and in spring it is possible to admire the lush flowering, as well as the splendid panorama that surrounds the area, the latter consisting of small and wonderful beaches. Here you can go to the discovery of these fascinating bays through unique and unmissable hiking trails.

The goal is to bring the park back to what it once was and thus began the cultivation of plants native to the area, slowly returning to the natural and peaceful landscape with which one could fall in love even more long ago.
Remember that once you get here, the best thing is to reach the beaches on foot: you will see that the effort will be amply rewarded!

Trekking and unique views

If you are a true hiker and trekking lover, then one of the first things you will surely want to undertake once you arrive in the Paros Park is the 7 km path that will take you to explore every natural corner and coming out right on the old lighthouse. Obviously to embark on this path we advise you to start early in the morning or late afternoon and bring water, food, comfortable clothing and everything you need to enjoy the long walk without worries.

Once you reach the lighthouse, we suggest you make a nice visit, being one of the most fascinating attractions of the island of Paros. Climb to the top and lose yourself with your gaze in the fabulous Aegean Sea that stretches before your eyes!
If after the excursions inside the park you decide to go to one of the beaches because you want to enjoy some comfort and rest from long walks, then we recommend the bays of Monastiri and Katholiko, both equipped beaches where you can relax and at the same time enjoy of the services they offer. In Monastiri do not forget to visit one of the most famous monasteries of the Cyclades, its legend and its majesty make every visitor who observes it fall in love ...

If, on the other hand, you want a wilder landscape, you can head to Almyros and Tourkou Ammos; here tranquility reigns supreme and are the perfect places for those seeking close contact with nature.

But the surprises of Paros Park do not end there. In the amphitheater located near the park you can attend unforgettable performances, concerts and shows. The Paros Park Festival allows visitors to get to know another nuance of the Park that plays from classical music to rock genre and shows rare and rather interesting feature films. In short, parks so full of opportunities if you see few around!

A bit of history

And since you are here now, you could also take a look at the Museum located right next to the Yiannis Monastery, housed inside the monks' cells and managed by volunteers. The exhibition will take you to discover the maritime history of the island of Paros, through maps designed by officials of the Russian Navy. For those who love a little naval history, this is a mandatory stop!
