Kastani Beach

The famous Kastani beach is located about 18 km from Skopelos Town (the island's capital).

It is a small bay of white sand, surrounded by lush vegetation, with trees reaching up to the shore and offering pleasant shade. Kastani beach is a jewel set in the green, with a sea so transparent that it looks like a pool.

Many tourists became aware of this marvel after the 2008 film Mamma Mia. Some scenes of the famous film were shot on Kastani beach.

There are many boat trips that depart from Skopelos Town harbor and the neighboring island of Skiathos for this beautiful beach. To avoid the overcrowding that is created in the central hours of the day, we therefore recommend that you arrive early in the morning and enjoy this splendor in peace.

Sun beds and umbrellas are available for 7 euros and free shower. If you do not like the equipped areas you will find some space for your towel in the free areas of the beach.

The seabed near the cliff on the right of the beach is very low in several stretches and you can easily reach some small caves and some small beaches where you can lie down in solitude.

Behind the beach is the well-stocked Kastani Beach Bar, with a beautiful green area where other sunbeds and umbrellas are positioned. The music at the bar is quite high during the day, and after 17.00 it becomes an open-air disco. Ideal for those who want to go wild with music!

From Kastani beach you can climb a small promontory that separates it from the nearby Milia beach and from which you can enjoy a splendid view .. Don't miss it!

How to reach Kastani beach?

If you have rented a means of transport (car / scooter) you can easily reach it from the main road that runs along the island. After Panormos, continue until you find the sign indicating the beach on the left and after a short descent you will arrive at the parking lot.

If you prefer public transportation, the bus stop for Kastani beach is about 500 m away, at the top of the dirt road that you can walk on.

For those who want to, there are also daily boat trips, which leave from the capital.
