Stafylos Beach

Stafylos Beach

Stafylos beach is located 4 kilometers south of the capital Skopelos Town , on the southern tip of the island.

It is one of the most known and crowded beaches of Skopelos, perhaps due to its close proximity to the capital.

It presents mixed pebbles with fine gray sand and an incredibly transparent turquoise sea set inside a pretty inlet.

The name "Stafylos" is due to the homonymous king that the locals say lived in this area, adding that the king was the son of Dionisio and Arianna. The tomb of Stafylos and his golden sword were found on the rock at the end of the beach. The sword is now kept in the Archaeological Museum of Athens. Thanks to its shallow waters the beach of Stafylos is great for families with children, who can easily relax without worries!

How to reach Stafylos beach?

Stafylos beach is easily accessible by local buses and by car. Once you arrive you will immediately notice the parking lot where you leave the car and the wooden steps to go to place your feet on the beautiful beach of Stafylos bay. In case you use the bus keep in mind that the stop is on the road that goes from Skopelos Città to Glossa, so you will have to take about 500 meters of walk to get to the beach.
