Marathias Beach

Marathias beach is located on the southern coast of the island of Zakynthos. It is a pebbly beach, bathed by a splendid sea but with deep waters, for which we recommend a little attention in case you have children, and surrounded by a rich vegetation that gives a little shade and freshness to the beach. Marathias is the classic place to reach if you are looking for a quiet and wild-looking bay, a place to relax, capable of giving emotions in close contact with nature!

What can I find on Marathias beach?

Thanks to its barren and wild spirit, this beach hosts few visitors annually, but its beauty leaves you breathless. On Marathias beach you will not find bars, taverns; the bay is completely natural and unspoiled. However, you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas nearby if you wish.
Here you can lie down and sunbathe in total tranquility. In addition, snorkelers can dive into the incredibly clear sea and go to explore the marine fauna and flora that inhabit these waters.
When you get hungry, you can go to one of the two restaurants near Marathias beach. Enjoying excellent fresh fish with a splendid surrounding panorama is ideal for spending one of the most beautiful days of your holiday on the island of Zakynthos.

What to do in Marathias?

If you feel like taking a small excursion, from Marathias beach you can take a taxi-boat and reach the beautiful island of Marathonissi, the wonder located right in front of your eyes!

How do I get to the beach?

To get to Marathias beach you have to take the road from Limini Keri which, going up on the right, starts to surround the promontory of Capo Marathia; traveling it will not be difficult since the road is well paved, around you you can admire the breathtaking view; among pine trees, olive trees, the song of cicadas and the view of Laganas, Keri and the island of Marathonissi, every two seconds you will want to get out of the car to carefully observe the wonders in front of your eyes and maybe take some memorable photos!
Once you have parked your car, it will be a bit difficult for you to descend towards Marathias bay, as you have to cross a hill. Slightly complicated but nothing impossible here.
