Kleftiko beach

Kleftiko beach is located on the southwest coast of the island of Milos and is one of the most spectacular resorts on the island. Cliffs and stacks of white rock surround the crystalline sea, creating a breathtaking scenery.

Once you arrive you will be fascinated by these suggestive white rocks that embrace the sea, creating natural caves where you can penetrate and marvel once again at the enchanting reflections created by the water.
The caves of the Kleftiko bay have long been the hideout of pirates. According to an ancient legend the pirates hid a treasure in one of the caves, but it was never found .. Maybe the lucky ones could be you!

How to reach Kleftiko beach?

The most practical and certainly the most suggestive way to get to Kleftiko beach is by sea. During the journey, in fact, you will be able to admire the beautiful coasts of the island of Milos and the small hidden beaches to be discovered!
You can rent a boat, or a dinghy in one of the ports of Milos: Adamàs, Pollonia or Agios Sostis, or book an organized tour at travel agencies on site. In fact, there are many day or half-day excursions available.
Almost all the excursions depart from Adamàs, the main port of Milos.
If you prefer to start from Agios Sostis you can book the tour organized by Zephyros Boat, which lasts 4 hours and costs 29 euros per person. The price includes coffee, ouzo (the typical Greek liqueur) and a snack made with canapés with pâté. Below we indicate their facebook page for more information and reservations: https://www.facebook.com/pg/zephyrosboatmilos/about/?ref=page_internal

In case you want to book the excursion with the Zephyros Boat we advise you to book that morning, to avoid the overcrowding of the various tours arriving in the central hours of the day.

If you are adventurous and you are not scared by the inaccessible paths, you can try to reach Kleftiko by land, better with a guide. The road that leads to the path is not paved and the descent to do on foot is about 50 minutes, so trekking shoes or at least gym shoes are necessary. We advise you to take the coastal road south of the island that passes through the beaches of Firiplaka, Provatas, and Gerantas, it is longer than the one indicated by the navigator, but less bumpy. Enter "Access for path to Kleftiko beach by hike" on google maps or the following coordinates: 36 ° 39'54.4 "N 24 ° 20'32.4" E.

If you have a 4x4 or a quad you can follow the shortest route. Once you arrive at the beginning of the path, continue on foot for about 50 minutes on a dirt and rather slippery path. Keep in mind that on the way back you will have to retrace it uphill and it will be even more challenging. If you are not more than trained on trekking or trail trails, we advise you to opt for the most comfortable and relaxing boat trip. If you decide to get to Kleftiko by land, we advise you to leave early in the morning to avoid the overcrowding of boat trips and having to walk up the path during the hottest hours of the day.

Why visit Kleftiko beach?
