Welcome to one of the most popular beaches on the island of Skiathos: Banana Beach! Originally called Krassa beach and located 13 kilometers south-east of Skiathos Town. This bay with its bizarre name has been renamed because of the shape of its two beaches: Big Banana and Small Banana.
Is Banana Beach equipped?
The first beach you find on your arrival, also called Megali Banana, offers the rental of sunbeds and umbrellas and several services, such as bars with music, taverns and water fun facilities; all with the aim to entertain anyone who happens on this hilarious bay. Among other things, if you love windsurfing this beach is the perfect place to practice it! Megali Banana is characterized by soft golden sand, dense vegetation behind and crystal clear sea.
Until a couple of years ago, in the afternoon, concerts, aperitifs and recreational events were organized with DJ sets and music at full volume, but due to problems of ordinary administration it is no longer possible.
In the 70s the nudists used to frequent the beach of Megali Banana, then with the arrival of tourism it was no longer possible for them to stay in contact with wild nature and therefore many naturists today prefer to attend the younger sister of Megali Banana, or Small Banana (also called Mikro Banana beach).
The beach of Mikri Banana, also called Banana 2 or Spartacus, is divided from the largest by some rocks and unlike the other is much quieter and is the only official nudist beach on the island of Skiathos. To reach it you can take the path that will lead you directly into the bay, or, with due care, you can climb over the rocks that divide the two beaches. Even the beach of Small Banana has the same characteristics as Big Banana, or sand and clear water, but the scenery that appears before your eyes is decidedly more wild. It must be said that the Small Banana has also undergone the strong tourist flow, and presents just a bar that also serves as a tavern and hire sunbeds and umbrellas. In fact, the beach today is not only attended by nudists, but also by those looking for a little more peace and relaxation and not nudism.
How do you reach Banana Beach?
To reach the famous Banana Beach you can use cars, scooters, boats and buses (you are spoiled for choice!).
If you decide to reach it by bus, simply take it from the capital, get off at the Koukounaries number 26 stop and take a dirt road that will take you to Banana Beach for a maximum of 15 minutes.
For those who decide to reach it by car / scooter we are 14 km from the capital and in 20 minutes you will be at your destination and ready to enjoy a fabulous day of sun and sea.
For those who decide to reach it by boat, it is sufficinete to contact the many travel agencies on site that offer excursions to the most beautiful beaches of the island, so that in one day you can visit the main ones.

And if you are an early riser ... arrive at 8.00 in the morning and you will enjoy an extraordinary quietness present only in the early hours of the day: a good coffee on the beach, a nice walk and you can really tell everyone what a spectacle it was to live all this!
