The beach of Troulos is located 7 kilometers from Skiathos Town (the capital) , near the village of the same name, on the southern coast of the island of Skiathos. Troulos has soft white sand and turquoise and transparent sea, all surrounded by beautiful pine trees that smell of Mediterranean scrub and embrace the beach.
In front of Troulos beach, about 350 meters from the shore, you can see the Troulonissia islet that takes its name from the beach. Small curiosity: "troulos" in Greek means "dome" and in fact the shape of the small island is reminiscent of a dome!
Is Troulos beach equipped?
The beach of Troulos is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas for only € 8 a day, to relax magnificently and if you have children it will become your favorite beach. Indeed Troulos is perfect for families with small travelers, thanks to the many comforts it offers compared to other beaches on the island of Skiathos. In addition, its sandy and gently sloping bottom allows relaxation guaranteed even to the most anxious parents, who here can fully enjoy a relaxing day, while their little ones will be free to play, swim and have fun, in total freedom.
If you are not a "under the umbrella" type and water sports enthusiasts, you will love Troulos beach. Here you can practice kayaking and rent paddle boards. Obviously do not forget to practice with a little snorkeling, to discover the beautiful marine fauna that inhabits the waters of Troulos.
For those who prefer relaxation in contact with nature, we recommend going to the central part of the beach, here you can find a large free area where you can enjoy a well-deserved rest. Instead for the shade you can take advantage of the luxuriant vegetation behind which gives a little refreshment on hot days.

In the beach of Troulos I find restaurants, bars, etc?
Near the equipped area there is also a tavern, now historic (for 40 years), located right on the beach, where you can enjoy excellent fresh fish dishes or traditional Greek cuisine, which, if you love Greece, you know that never disappoints!
If you are not on a "lunch on the beach" and simply want a snack, there is a great beach bar for you: sandwiches, drinks and quick snacks always available. And if you are for "do it yourself", near the car park, there is also a supermarket ..
As you may have guessed ... at Troulos beach it is impossible to displease anyone!
In Troulos you might find some crowds, especially in high season, because of its charm and its fame. But even with a little more people, the beach does not lose its evocative, pleasant and able to give you one of the most restful days of your holiday on the island of Skiathos!
If you want to do something more special, you can rent a boat right on the beach of Troulos and reach the small, isolated beaches located around the bay. It could be something different to give yourself in the company of your better half or your family!
Alternatively (a cheaper solution to the private boat) to reach these more hidden bays, are the taxi boats.
For those who like hiking, you can reach the beach of Aselinos or the Monastery of Kounistria on foot.
For the Aselinos beach you will have to follow a path that will take you to this little paradise in about an hour.
For the Monastery, on the other hand, you will have to leave Troulos and take the road that leads to Skiathos Town, after about 4 kilometers you will find this lovely Monastery in front of your eyes, a work of great historical and artistic importance ... as well as religious.
How to reach Troulos beach?
To get to the beach of Troulos you can use the car, along the main road of the island of Skiathos, or you can reach it from Skiathos Town by taking a taxi boat or a bus from stop 18. Once you arrive near the beach you will notice the convenient parking free, where you can leave your car, in case you had it, and the bus stop number 20, for those who had decided not to use their own vehicle.
However the beach of Troulos cannot be missed! If you want to spend a day without worries and thoughts, with a natural and wonderful landscape enriched among other things by all the comforts that can be used by anyone ... well then, I would say that the beach of Troulos is a must for your holiday on the island of Skiathos!
